Not quite sorted and am surrounded by boxes so will leave this weekend again. Thankfully we have the international break where I can get everything sorted on the site and it should have made huge steps by the time the top leagues play again.

Villareal look a decent price to win at Osasuna this weekend and I fancied a little double with them and Atletico Madrid. Will look again later if time allows for Sundays games.

Good luck.

Lack of an internet connection again this week and weekend means another no bet week. The site is improving slowly and back to Spain on Monday so should be back to normal soon and can start betting next weekend.

Good luck.

The premier league kicks off this weekend as well as the Bundesliga but still no bets from me. It does seem so soon that it’s back and hopefully it will be another good one. England should be interesting and I don’t think Man Utd will do it again. Ronaldo out for a while and the loss of Queroz as huge and Ferguson needs to replace him. Everyone seems to be marking this down as a battle between United and Chelsea but I’m not so sure. However, both Arsenal and Liverpool have their own weaknesses.

As I said last week I need to see some more stats for games played so far this season before I can start recommending anything and I can’t bet just for the sake of it. I may make an exception when the Spanish season kicks off but for now it’s still nothing.

The development of the site has not gone as quickly as I had hoped, mainly as I packed up my house in preparation of a move and now am in England for a few weeks. There should be more time next week and I want to separate the data out and display just what I have for this season for most leagues.

Good luck this weekend in whatever you bet on and will keep updating the progress as and when I can.

Well the new season kicks off today in England, France and the Scottish Premier League follows the lower leagues in Scotland. Firstly, I will point out there will be no bets from me. My betting has been based on using the console to look for patterns etc but as this is a fresh season there is not enough for me to go on.

At present for each league I have included last seasons data with the current fixtures as a guide but am not sure how useful it will be. After each league has played 2 or 3 games I will drop last seasons fixtures and we can concentrate on the present and with luck bets will start to present themselves.

On a personal note I am also taking a trip to England and the moving house so realistically don’t have the time to look for other bets. I would have liked to have looked at how successful promoted teams have been on the opening weekend in England as I imagine it would have been quite good in all league bar the premiership. I remember being at Crystal Palace a few seasons back after they had dropped from the premiership and Luton had just come up to the Championship and won 2-1. They had no pressure and on the back on a winning season were full of confidence. Swansea look interesting away at Charlton in the championship. Actually, I just had a rough look at teams that came up to the championship over the last 5 years and I think Luton were the only victors with about 6 draws!

I am using my team to continue with the development of the console and I do think it will be worth it. I envisage a really unique user experience with so many stats available that everyone will be happy. Loading times should also be cut down.

With the Premier League kicking in next week maybe I can find something but the last weekend in August sees Spain startup and I would think I will have an antepost bet or two there. In the meantime here are the only two bets advised so far.

++ Barclays Premiership Top Goalscorer – Adebayor @ 11/1 on Coral (1pt e/w)

++ Barclays Premiership Top Goalscorer – Carew @ 80/1 on Blue Sq (½pt e/w)

Good luck this weekend with your betting and please keep an eye on the site over the coming weeks and any input you have will be greatly appreciated.

Blimey! The Scots have caught me on the hop and kick off their season tomorrow in divisions 1, 2 and 3. I covered these divisions last season but I never found many bets there and intend to drop them for the coming seasons. I want to add some other European leagues instead but once I have redone the site I can see how much effort it will be to add them in again. If anyone reads this and has found their stats useful please let me know.

With the English season kicking off next weekend I think it is unlikely the new site will be totally ready. Hopefully I can get some sort of beta version up and running but I find the site comes into it’s own once a few games have been played.

I think Spain kicks off their league on 30th August and I would think everything will be in place then.  I should be in place in Gijón and am from google earth am pretty sure the flat is 5 mins walk to the ground!

I made some progress this week on the new console and I think it will be improved for next season and offer a lot more. I will need to rejig all my historic data but will add leagues as soon as I can. Next week I will put up what I have done and update it as I go.

Last time I talked about the top goalscorer and am prepared to go for a couple of antepost bets. The main fact I liked was that every player had scored at least 11 goals the season before in either the Premier League of Championship, aside from Owen in his first full season and Hasselbaink who came from Spain but had played before in England. From last season we have Ronaldo (31), Adebayor and Torres (24), Santa Cruz (19), Berbatov, Keane, Benjani, and Yakubu (15), Tevez (14), Carew (13), Defoe and Rooney (12) and Agbonhalor, Anelka, Gerrard and Owen (11).

If we drop the years when there was a 3 way tie in 12/14 cases the striker had scored at least 17 goals the season before which leaves just 4 possibles. With Ronaldo coming in injured I think Adebayor is the real value. He has played 2½ seasons in England now and is settled. I think Torres may find it hard to repeat what he did again. I did say Adebayor was boosted by the fact he scored 6 goals against Derby but with Stoke and Hull around maybe he can fill his boots against them.

There was an Adebayor picture gallery in The Guardian a while back and I am using this post as an excuse to show this photo from it

Someone else has to go to Spurs, especially if Berbatov goes and if it’s Santa Cruz he might be worth a go, although I wouldn’t be too surprised if Ramos tried to get Kanoute back with his newly swelled transfer chest.

Carew is the other one I like and want to bet on him and Adebayor.

++ Barclays Premiership Top Goalscorer – Adebayor @ 11/1 on Coral (1pt e/w)
++ Barclays Premiership Top Goalscorer – Carew @ 80/1 on Blue Sq (½pt e/w)

much better odds on betfair as Adebayor can be backed at 14 to win and 5.5 to finish in the top 4. Carew's win price is better but nothing for him in the top 4 market.

3 points staked in total
